Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Mission of Single Mothers Outreach?

Our mission is to empower single parents and their children by providing hope, support and resources so that families can become self-sustaining.

What are the Values and Vision of SMO?

Our vision is to make alumnae of our parents: men and women who no longer need our services but stay connected and pay it forward. We will not discriminate based upon disability, English-language skills, religion, cultural background, gender, age, or sexual preference. We will treat all single parents who come to us for assistance with respect. While we cannot promise to provide monetary assistance due to budget limitations, all clients will be given resources for reference and referrals to other social service agencies.

Where is Single Mothers Outreach located?

Our facilities are located at 26881 Ruether Avenue in Canyon Country. Almost half of our parents live in Canyon Country and we wanted to provide easier access to our facility.

How Can I Volunteer?

We consider our volunteers to be the heart of SMO, a committed group of people, including single parents, who are motivated by a desire to make a difference in our community. Our work is made possible because people are still willing to give of themselves with gifts of time, energy and love.

Volunteers are not extras – they are essential members of our community.
